One of the CTE programs of study offered at RCHS is Business Management. The courses offer students an opportunity to learn about and analyze real world business scenarios with a focus on technology used for communication in Corporate America.
As a few highlights of the program so far this year, there have been 29 industry credential certifications awarded to Advanced Office Applications students for proficiency in Microsoft Office products which are irreplaceable skills in business and leadership. This fall, we had five senior women participate in the Junior Achievement Miss Business event where they were able to listen to women in local executive positions talk about their success, how to set professional goals, and what it takes to achieve them. Most recently in Ms. Stout's Business Communications class, students participated in mock interviews with professionals across various different industries who provided each student with feedback and in the end had to select one of their students to "hire" after the interview. Every place of employment in some capacity is a business, so the skills our students in Business Management are learning will help set them up for success in any industry they choose to go into after high school.
Stay tuned as we continue to highlight more of our CTE programs in celebration of CTE month!
