Fred JacksonFred Jackson, Math
Reading, writing, and arithmetic are the basics of education, the keys to success as we all know. But, I was a stubborn child and a barely adequate student, “too cool for school”, but fortunately I squeaked by. In my high school years, I discovered an affinity for numbers. I loved the simplicity, logic, and consistency of mathematics, and I realized math is all around us. I joined the Air Force after high school and in the subsequent 23 years learned unique applications for math…think missiles, trajectories, and orbits to name a few. While on active duty, I  completed my Master’s Degree and had the extreme privilege of teaching at the University of Colorado-Boulder. After retiring from the USAF, I decided to bring my love of numbers to a younger crowd. I enjoy sharing my love of numbers and arithmetic with today’s High School students. I spent the last 8 years teaching high school math in Mississippi and look forward to working with the students of Roane County High School. Maybe, just maybe, I can ignite a passion for numbers in another “adequate student” like myself.
Steffany KorteSteffany Korte, English
I grew up here in Kingston and graduated from Roane County High School, so I was very excited for the opportunity to be an educator in my hometown. After graduating from Middle Tennessee State University, my husband and I moved away for a few years. So when the opportunity to move back presented itself, I was excited for my three children to also get to experience growing up in this wonderful community. We love spending time at the lake and enjoy working on our little hobby farm raising chickens, ducks, and rabbits.  I’m am honored to be a teacher at my Alma Mater! Go Jackets!
