Course Description: This course is an introduction to the Spanish language and culture. Students will learn basic conversational skills and basic vocabulary through reading, writing, speaking, and listening in the target language.

Topics Covered
Vocabulary: everyday expressions, weather, descriptions, school, family, house, food,
sports, emotions, health, celebrations, clothing, colors
Grammar: nouns, adjectives, articles, subject pronouns, present tense verb conjugations, irregular verbs, direct and indirect object pronouns, possessive adjectives,
demonstrative adjectives
Methods of Instruction
Methods of instruction include lecture, activities, quizzes, tests, worksheets, video, and group work.
Student Expectations
1. Students are required to keep a notebook, containing notes, vocabulary, and worksheets, that will be graded each nine weeks.
