Roane County High School Scholarship Challenge Guidelines for Students
Applicants must be a senior in good standing in academics, attendance, and discipline. To apply for one of these scholarships from one of our local businesses to help with the cost of your first year at college, you will be required to type a 250-word essay. The essay will need to include:
What our community means to you
What future plans you have after high school
You will complete the attached application and submit it along with your 250-word essay to the Guidance Office by May 7, 2018.
Any Senior that attended Kiddie Korner Day Care for a year or more and has 3.0 GPA or higher can submit an essay as to why early education is important to them. Deadline to submit Essay to Guidance is May 1, to be considered for a scholarship.
A one-time scholarship award for a graduating senior in the Roane County, Tennessee High School Band who exhibits the hard work and giving spirit of the late Jennifer Lawson, who served the Roane County High School Band as Uniform Committee Chairperson and Chaperone with great skill and a beautiful smile.

The winner(s) of this annual scholarship will receive their award within 2 weeks of the listed deadline. All applicants should include their full name and mailing address with their submissions as well as the school they are currently attending.

The A&F Scholarships are available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution.
Application Procedure for 2018
To apply for this scholarship you will need to write an essay on the topic below. The essay should be between 500 and 1000 words. Your submissions must be sent to us by email at: email@example.com
Describe your educational career and life goals. Explain your plan for achieving these goals. Include your degree/major, why you selected it, and how this degree/major will help you achieve your goals.
AES Engineering is pleased to be able to continue offering scholarships to motivated students to help in the furthering of their education.
Our belief is that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason we are offering a scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by an evaluation of the essays that are submitted.
Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility.
You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.
How to Apply
Students must submit an essay of between 500 and 1000 words in answer to the following question:
When you look back on your life in 30 years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful? What relationships or accomplishments will be important on this journey?
Amount of award: $500.00 Deadline for entry: October 6, 2018
Eligibility The following groups are eligible to receive this $1000 scholarship: -High school seniors that have been accepted into a college or university -Current college and university students who haven’t reached their last year of studies yet. This includes undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate students.
Guidelines To enter for a chance to receive this scholarship you must write a 500-word essay on the topic: “What are Unique Ways People Have Reached Financial Stability?”
Submission Deadline December 15, 2018
Winner Selection Once the submission deadline comes, the Xcela Wealth Scholarship committee will review all essay submissions. One winner will be selected by the end of January 2019 to receive a $1000 scholarship. The winner will have two weeks to respond before a new winner is selected.

Kalu Yala Scholarship
Application Deadline December 31, 2018
Created with the future entrepreneurs and business people at Roane State Community College in mind. We hope that this scholarship helps someone get a little closer to their dream career.
Eligibility To be eligible for the Kalu Yala Scholarship you have to meet one of the following criteria:
1. High school senior that has been accepted into a college or university. 2. Current college or university student that is not in their final semester. This includes all education levels (undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate).
Guidelines To apply for this scholarship you must write a 500-word essay on the topic: “The Main Benefits of Studying Abroad”.

Guidelines To apply for the $1000 Chrissy Weems Scholarship please write a 500-word essay on the following topic: “Share an adversity in your life that you have fought to overcome and what you have learned from it”.

Winner Selection A winner will be selected by the scholarship committee in March 2019. Once contacted the winner will have two weeks to respond so the scholarship can be awarded to their school’s financial aid department.
This year the Oak Ridge Chapter of FEW will be awarding two$500 scholarshipsto studentsin two different categories. The first scholarship offered is theJeanetteS. Miller Scholarship that will be awarded to students who haveafinancial need. Thesecond scholarship is the FEW Science, Technology, Engineering,&Math (STEM)Scholarship.
Through its Mentoring and Leadership Development Program, the Jackie Robinson Foundation provides scholarships of up to $30,000 over four years to minority high school students showing leadership potential and demonstrating financial need to attend an accredited 4-year college or university of their choice.
Applicant must be a senior in high school and must have participated in a DIXIE YOUTH BASEBALL program when twelve years or younger. Applicant's ability as an athlete will not be a factor in awarding scholarships.
