About Mr. McDaniel

Keith McDaniel, Roane County High School's new Audio/Visual Production teacher, has spent his career as a communications professional specializing in video production and documentary filmmaking. A graduate of RCHS, Mr. McDaniel has spent the past 7 years teaching film production courses at Carson-Newman University. Prior to that, he owned his own production company and worked for a variety of production companies in East Tennessee. Several of Mr. McDaniel’s films have aired both locally and nationally on PBS including “Secret City: The Oak Ridge Story” and “The Clinton 12”. In addition, Mr. McDaniel is the founder and director of the Knoxville Film Festival which is celebrating its 18th year in 2021. Originally from Kingston, Mr. McDaniel now lives in Oak Ridge with his wife Dana. They have two sons, Ethan and Bailey.
