2019 Scruffy City Orchestra Concerto Competition

Welcome to the 2018 Scruffy City Orchestra Concerto Competition! Any school-age child or adult from grade 1 up to the age of 25 from East Tennessee may enter in this juried competition. Both solo vocalists and instrumentalists are encouraged to participate for a chance to perform their piece with the Scruffy City Orchestra in concert on May 3 and 10, 2019. This year, two winners will be chosen: one from grades 1- 12 and one from post-high school through age 25, subject to qualifying auditions.

National Youth Science Camp - Summer 2019

The National Youth Science Camp is a residential science education program for young scientists the summer after they graduate from high school. Students from around the country are challenged to explore new areas in the biological and physical sciences, art, and music with staff members. Opportunities are provided for delegates to present seminars covering their own areas of interest and research. Selected delegates attend the National Youth Science Camp at no expense, transportation included, due to the sponsorship of the National Science Foundation.
